Leipzig International School

Leipzig International School (LIS) is the first and the oldest International School in central Germany. Since the foundation of the school in 1992, as a registered association, it has developed as an important economic and investment factor for the Leipzig region. English is the official language of communication at LIS and the high standard of education meets the high needs of the economic region, in every capacity. “Learning to be a Citizen of the World” is the motto, which defines the philosophy of education taught at LIS. This also includes promoting the cultural and the social development of the students. LIS students learn to develop a feeling of self-confidence and to recognise their own capabilities, qualities that are necessary in a critical world in any culture.

In 2007, LIS underwent a full restoration and the campus was also enlarged. The new state-of-the-art facilities include modern, bright classrooms, a multipurpose hall, specialised science and IT.
