The declared goal of the city of Leipzig is to refocus attention and reevaluate the topic “peaceful revolution 1989”. Whatsmore, the day of the peaceful revolution should become a recognizable message within the framework of the city’s marketing plan.
It is necessary to anchor the revolution’s memory in public spaces so that a continual caring for and presentation of this heritage in Leipzig is guaranteed not only on and around the 9th of October itself but, rather, that it is consistent and permanent.
