The area around Barfussgässchen, in the oldest part of the city, gives an impression of how closely the buildings in the city centre formerly stood. Side by side, there are historical buildings of the Renaissance, Baroque and Wilhelminian era, and there are numerous picturesque corners and winding passages. And this is where Leipzig's "Drallewatsch" is to be found, on Fleischergasse and Barfussgässchen.
"Drallewatsch" is a Saxon dialect word meaning an evening out, going from one pub to the next maybe even a lot more… Culinary culture – cosy, homely restaurants and trendy bars and culture go hand in hand along this stretch of bars and pubs. It's well worth the visit.
