Gohlis Palace, a Late Baroque architectural monument, was built in 1755/56. It is situated by the edge of Rosental park, only few minutes distance from the city centre. It is a unique testament to the bourgeois residential culture of the end of the 18th century. Adding to this is the rare surviving interior decoration by painter Adam Friedrich Oesers, which is exemplary for this decorative style of art.
Since its reopening after extensive restorations in 1998, Gohlis Palace acts as venue for banquets, events, chamber concerts, readings as well as theatre and ballet performances. The rooms of Gohlis Palace offer today a high class setting for various different formal occasions.
